Hello!
Does anyone happen to know if there are any bookstores in Dhaka that carry novels (or maybe magazines/comics) in English that I can check out? I'll be taking my own reading material there, but if I do run out then I'd like to keep in mind that I can go pick up more.
I'd appreciate the help. ^^ |

Hey everyone,
Just joined LJ. Used to be on this a long time ago but then I quit for a while. I'm of bangladeshi origin but grew up in teh states so dealing with pretty much the same stuff that most others like me are. However, since I'm living in the middle of nowhere in classic american southern fashion, I thought I'd try to meet more people. So...I'm from a small town, know very few bengalis my age, all of whom i can count on one hand. I'm a applying med student who thinks too much and thats about it. Add me if you want.

There is a 'Bangladesh Carnival' going on at the moment, where blog entries about Bangladesh can be submitted. Details about the carnival can be found here.
All submissions will be compiled and published over at Incurable Bengali on the July 6, 2008 and the deadline for submission is July 4, 2009.

Grim life for Bangladeshi prostitutes
At first sight this seemed like any other port I had visited in Bangladesh.  Bangladesh has a population of 152.6 million | Dusty streets packed with men and boys and long, long queues of trucks. The difference here is that once I had turned down a certain side street I had entered the biggest brothel in Bangladesh.
